From among a world of colors, red stands out the most. The color red is fresh and pure, and in China we call it China Red. Red can be found everywhere in Chinese culture, especially during the Spring Festival, when auspicious red couplets will be found on and over doorways for good luck. Red is the color of the smallest red beans given as a token of love, and red is the color of the strong walls of the imperial palace’s 999 rooms. Red has melted into the Chinese nation; now red expresses the passion, pride and peace of this ancient country.

Wherever Chinese go, the custom of drinking tea follows. Tea was first discovered by the Chinese. Tea is an indispensable part of the life of a Chinese. A Chinese saying identifies the seven basic daily necessities as fuel, rice, oil, salt, soy sauce, vinegar, and tea. The custom of drinking tea has been ingrained in the Chinese for over a thousand year. In Tang Dynasty, a man named Lu Yu created the first book in the world on tea, Book of Tea. This work helped to popularize the art of tea drinking all across China.
