Dr. Robot at a new hospital
You will see a new doctor at a hospital near London if you go there. He?s very clever，but he never speaks and has not been to a medical school. He can work for twenty-four hours and never gets tired. He?s one meter tall and has a face like a TV screen. He?s Dr. Robot.
Doctors often need to ask their patients many questions. Some doctors are very busy and they usually ask each patient a few questions. But Dr Robot can ask questions for an hour if it is necessary. With the help of Dr Robot，a human doctor can know a lot of information when he meets his patient. How can Dr Robot do this？A computer “tells” him what to do. Dr Robot can do lots of things humans can do，though he can't completely take the place of human doctors.
A Robot Babysitter
In 2005, Japan made a new robot. It can take care of a child. The new robot is called iPapero. It weighs 13.2 pounds, and has a body of 15.2 b y 10.3 and by 9.8 inches.
Papero is a small robot, but it has many special skills. It can recognize and remember up to ten faces and use its eight separate electronic ears to understand human voices even in noisy situations. It also plays games with children when they are unhappy, or sing songs or ask quizzes to entertain the child. If the child is bored, iPapero will change new songs and quizzes so that it doesn?t repeat itself. The robot babysitter even has a cell phone to call a parent when the child asks for his mother.
