(CollegeofChemistryandChemicalEngineering,OceanUniversityofChina,Qingdao266003,China)Abstract:Properpretreatmentisoneofthemostcriticalfactorsforthesuccessfullong-termperformanceofseawaterreverseosmosis(SWRO)plant.SDI,turbidityandTOCcanbereducedefficientlyfromseawater,andhighandstablequalityfeedwaterofROsystemcanbeprovidedwithultrafiltration(UF)pretreatmentcomparedwiththeconventionalpretreatmentprocess.Therefore,thereliabilityoftheROdesalinationplantcanbeen2hancedwithUFpretreatmentprocess.TheUFpretreatmentprocessforSWROhasbecomethetendencyinde2salinationplantasaresultoftheabovedadvantages.Inthispaper,recentadvancesin

researchesandapplicationsofUFpretreatmentprocessforSWROwerereviewed,andthefoulingandpreventingofUFmembraneweredis2cussed.
