[Abstract]??Theapplicationoffiberreinforcedplastics(FRP)instrengtheningprojectsisoneofthemostpopularfieldsinthestudiesincivilengineering.Practicesandtheorieshavetestifiedthatthetechnologyof
strengtheningstructureswithprestressedFRPisfeasiblewithobviousadvantages.Aconcisestate-o-fthe-artsurveyandnewprogressofthetechnologyofstrengtheningstructureswithprestressedFRParepresented,includingstudiesintermsofconcretestructuresstrengtheningwithprestressedFRP,steelstructuresstrengtheningwithprestressedFRPandthekeyproblemsinitspracticalapplication.Experimentalstudiesrevealedthatstrengthenedwithpres-tressedFRP,thecrackingload,yieldingloadandultimatecapacityofRCbeamsincreasedobviously,behaviorsofflexuremembersunderlong-termloadwereimproved,andthefatiguelifeofconcretememberswerealsoincreased.StrengthensteelbeamswithprestressedFRP,theyieldingloadandultimatecapacityincreasedobviously,withgreaterincreasewhenmoreCFRPwereusedorathigherprestressleve.lPrestressedCFRPcontributedtotherigid-ityofsteelbeamespeciallywhenstrengthofsteelisrelativelylow.ThekeyproblemsinpracticalapplicationofthetechnologyofstrengtheningwithprestressedFRPincludethestudiesonprestressapplyingsystem,prestresscontrolvalue,prestresslossandendanchoragesystem.
